40 years ago today (July 20, 1969), Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed on the moon. Lest we forget how much of an accomplishment that is, one need only look up towards the night sky and be reminded that our moon is ~250,000 miles away.
Sadly, it seems that space exploration’s most exciting moment as of late has been the recent Star Trek movie, but one can’t deny the amazing feat those men (and NASA) accomplished. There are a lot of great documentaries and films about the event, but one of the standouts is From The Earth To The Moon. The $68 million dollar, 12 episode HBO miniseries created by Tom Hanks is just as captivating as it is truthful about the trials and tribulations of NASA’s moon landing. Here’s hoping for 2020.
