Nestled in Berkeley, California’s Gourmet Chetto, resides an unassuming loft. It’s the home of Twig & Fig, an artisan company dedicated to creating unique letterpress stationery. Founded in 2003 by Suzie McKig and Serge Vigeant, the crew of of Twig & Fig base their operations around a 1974 Heidelberg Windmill Lettepress (the last of its kind), to bring your cards or invitations to life. Their process utilizes a blend of old world craftsmanship, tools, and modern inks. The results are handsome. Of course, if custom isn’t your thing, you can always visit their paperie conveniently situated next door that stocks pre-made invitations, cards, wax seals, and journals pretty much guaranteed to not be carried by anyone else you know.
Stationery nuts not residing in Northern California can still get their paper fix. Twig & Fig products are carried by stores throughout the U.S. You can check out their map to find the one nearest you.
Editor’s Note: Gear Patrol’s affair with letterpress is well documented, and we use lettepress business cards and stationery as our own means of representation. A letterpress calling card or stationery can make quite the impact when it comes to. No, it’s not for everyone, but you can’t deny craftsmanship, or heck, just another place to get cool stuff.
