We’ve shared some of our favorites from the good folks at Columbia River Knife & Tool before, and here is another fine example of their handiwork. The new Ignitor is a perfect little tech-folder, as stout as it is sharp.
The Ignitor features a 3.38″ modified drop point, hollow grid blade in premium 8Cr14MoV stainless steel. CRKT offers two blade options, either a single Razor-Sharp edge or combo Razor-Sharp edge with their patented Veff serrations; we prefer the latter for its skill in cutting cord or vegetation. The knife is available in several configurations, our favorite being the T (tactical) which adds to the blade a non-reflective dark gray titanium nitride coating shackles the handle in black G10 scales.
Beyond these specs, the Ignitor most impressive attribute is its use of CRKT’s OutBurst assisted opening mechanism. With just a gentle nudge on the thumbstud’s Fire Safe release, the blade springs open with a confident click. Truthfully, it’s more of a thud than a click, which is pretty awesome in our book.
