Today, the iMac gets a face (chin) lift. 21.5 and 27 inch 16:9 LED displays with 1000:1 contrast ratios, ridiculous power, and welcome new features round out the new iMac and it’s all about bringing power to the people.
The 21.5″ iMac (1920×1080) will be equipped with 3.06 GHz or 3.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duos processors and ATI Radeon HD 4670 video card with 256MB of GDDR3 memory, while the decidedly “pro” iMac 27″ (2560×1440) will utilize quad core 2.66 Intel Core i5 or 2.8GHZ Intel Core i7 processors, and a 512MB ATI Radeon HD 4850 video card. Sporting memory capacities with, get this, up-to 16GB of memory (4GB standard) and 2TB hard drive of hard drive capacity, the new iMacs which will range from $1,199 all the way up to $1,999 (plus options).
Included with the new iMac is the new wireless Magic Mouse that replicates all the juicy multi-touch goodness that’s been available on so much of Apple’s other hardware utilizing two-finger gesture movements for scrolling. Built-in wireless, bluetooth, SD Memory Card slot, standard wireless keyboard, and updated speakers are also part of the update. Intense.
