If you’re a fan of traditional backpacks, the Ogio Politan is an excellent choice, but if you prefer a messenger-style laptop bag designed specifically for your spiffy new Apple MacBook, you’ll want to take a look at respected Apple accessory supplier, Incase.
As fans of most things Apple (Apple TV notwithstanding), we decided to contact Incase to review their Small Nylon Messenger Bag for the 13″ Macbook Pro (which, at last count, 4 of the GP writers use). This bag isn’t your average messenger bag with some extra padding for a laptop, but rather an inexpensive way to get your laptop into the life of padded luxury. Incase has padded and lined the compartment with velvety soft faux-fur that wraps around your laptop like an expensive mink, while the water resistant nylon keeps it protected from the elements.
The Small Nylon Messenger Bag also features a plethora of pockets to keep all your gear well organized. The center compartment is large enough for a couple of textbooks with a few folders and the additional pockets are well placed. There are two zippered pockets on the inside, along with pencil holders, and two more additional pouch pockets. One pouch pocket closes with a Velcro flap for secure transport and the other remains open for easy access when you need to keep something within quick reach. The front panel is also padded for added protection and there’s even a faux-fur lined spot for your cellphone too.
Wearing the messenger around town is comfortable, the bag stays snugly in place, and your laptop doesn’t slide around, either. Incase also includes a shoulder strap pad for added comfort. The Incase Small Nylon Messenger Bag is an excellent choice to lug your 13″ Macbook Pro around town.
