Though technically a trilogy, splitting them up into separate parts is just wrong. The fact is, your DVD collection needs The Godfather in its entirety. Arguably the best trifecta of films ever made, The Godfather is based on the 1969 book by Mario Puzo. It follows the Corleone mob family, originally from Sicily, starting in 1945 up to the late 1970s. With betrayals, feuds, wars, murders, and assassinations-a-plenty, its a drama that many since have aspired to. The cast is who’s-who all-star ensemble of the day, featuring Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, Robert Duvall, James Caan, and Diane Keaton. In total, The Godfather trilogy won nine Academy Awards and routinely makes all the “Top Movie” lists. So add it to yours or we take no responsibility if you “find” a horse head in your bed.
