British bespoke suit jacket tailoring and biking outerwear. Doesn’t sound like your everyday convergence yet completely intriguing, right? Well, Italian cycling outfitter Rapha has done just that. Commissioning London tailor Timothy Everest, the Rapha Tailored Cycling Jacket ($550, avail May) is constructed of a unique nanotechnology based 100% wool fabric that’s both water/stain resistant and designed to keep your body at optimal temperatures – hot or cold. Of course, fabric (a custom pattern unique to this jacket) isn’t everything. Technical biking features are in full force here: front hems that can be buttoned away from the legs, storm collar, rear pocket, action back pleats at the shoulders, zipped key pocket on the left arm with lanyard, working cuff buttons, dual in-breast pockets, iPod cable routing loops, and light touches of Rapha’s signature pink Melton wool trim. Technical performance and style for your cycling commute just buddied up. Made in Britain.
