Are We Winning?
A Son's Connection to the Game & His Dad
Baseball is America’s past time (if you don’t count Facebook or eating), and that shows no sign of stopping. Will Leitch who is the founding editor of Deadspin.com as well as a contributing editor for New York magazine wrote Are We Winning? in part to commemorate his father and in part for his love of the game. Built around one memorable trip the pair made in September 2008 to Wrigley Field to witness the Cards play the Cubs, the book progresses by the half-inning while covering topics like his early child hood, Pujols’ skills, and the terrible effect the steroid scandal may or may not have on the game. The result is one of the most creative memoirs we’ve come across in a long time that’s packed with interesting sports commentary and chuckle worthy tales any guy can appreciate. So yes, it has Father’s day gift written all over it.
