Nestled comfortably between the world of $6 cheap cuts and two-hour salon marathons stands a session at Baxter Finley Barber & Shop. A veritable beacon in the ever-changing and oft confusing world of men’s haircuts (especially here in LA), the men at Baxter Finley Barber & Shop aren’t hair stylists per se, but barbers. Barbers in custom made Steven Alan gingham shirts. If you missed our previous coverage about the shop, the premise is refreshingly simple. Restored leather and porcelain barber chairs from the early 1900’s, reclaimed Douglas Fir flooring, and the rotating candy cane cylinder harken the days of yore. A day when your barber was your therapist, stylist, and life coach with unrelenting knowledge of politics, musics, and culture.

So, this time we made a visit and took our cameras along with us to give you a first hand look at the best damn shave and haircut you might have all year. Of course, if you’re not in LA, Baxter Finley also produces the fantastic line of men’s grooming products, Baxter of California, all of which are used at the shop.
