Black Gold Records, Coffee & Antiques

Something Black, Something Gold

By Eric Yang on 9.3.10

Near the corner of Brooklyn’s Carroll Gardens on Court and Luquer Streets stands Black Gold Records, Coffee & Antiques. Their mantra, “a well-curated selection of: records coffee relics & ephemera” is entirely appropriate, but we liken it to a cross-between High Fidelity and good coffee. Opened this summer by Jeff Ogiba and Sommer Foster-Santoro, Black Gold Records has everything we want in a vinyl shop. After a recent visit, we can testify. You’ll find shelves lined with great rock, blues, jazz, hip-hop albums at awesome prices, tasty Rook Coffee Roasters and Scratchbread baked goods on sale along with other vintage finds. Visit often because records sell quickly and the inventory is anything but online.
