Later this month at the 2010 Paris Auto Show, Ford will be unveiling the 2012 Ford Focus ST (no, not SVT). Not only will the Ford Focus ST finally bring an American hot hatch contender to our shores, but one teeming with attitude – an aggressive front fascia with massive air intakes and grille, rear tailgate spoiler, central exhaust system, and signature alloy wheels. But this isn’t just show and no go, the Focus will be outfitted with a 2.0 liter 247 horsepower turbocharged EcoBoost engine mated to a six-speed manual. That’s 50 horsepower more than its familiar competitor, the Volkswagen GTI, and on par with the ludicrous Mazdaspeed3. We only have two questions: why has it taken this long and when can we get behind the wheel?
