We’ve never considered the previous generation BMW 6 Series much of a looker, a victim of the incoherent design that’s plagued BMW’s from the past decade. The new BMW 6 Series Concept — if you can call it a concept, as this pretty close to what will hit our shores in mid 2011 — is quite the opposite. Sheathed in BMW’s new taught design language courtesy a gent named Adrian von Hooydonk, the 6 Series is a BMW knockout. The coupe will feature many of the interior features from the new 5 Series and a choice between the 300 horsepower turbocharged inline-six or 400 horsepower 4.4 liter V8 mated to an 8 speed gearbox with. But what’s a BMW without an M? A 555-hp twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 mated to a seven-speed double-clutch gearbox will land in 2012.
