The recently announced BlackBerry Bold 9780 may not generate the buzz of other handsets considering it’s quite similar to the 9700, but for BlackBerry addicts in love with the portrait QWERTY form factor, the changes should still be welcomed. Aesthetically its pretty much par for the Bold series course, but internally its camera has been upgraded to a 5 MP version complete with a flash and image stabilization. Its ram has also been doubled to provide a speedier experience to go along with BlackBerry’s latest multitasking OS 6 operating system (with a webkit-driven browser!). Otherwise, the device still includes an optical trackpad, 3G / WiFi support, GPS, and 512 of Flash memory which can be expanded up to 32GB thanks to a microSD slot. Available on T-Mobile in the U.S. on November 17th, the 9780 will cost $130 with a two-year contract. In other words, consider it a nice baby step for those who don’t like Android and are still too nervous to hop on board the touchscreen-only bandwagon. Yeah pops, we’re looking at you.
