Toyota has been pulling out all the stops for SEMA 2010 and there are plenty of amazing concepts worth browsing. The Toyota Tundra Sportsman though is hands down one of the most awe-inspiring pick-ups we’ve come across. Described by the automaker as a “command center for extended hunting trips” and “the ultimate sportsman fantasy transport and base camp”, at its core is a 2011 Tundra Double Cab 4×4 with a 5.7-liter V8 plus the Rock Warrior package from TRD and enormous 12.5-inch Nitto Mud Grapplers sitting on 18-inch ATX Teflon-coated wheels. As if that wasn’t enough truck, Toyota also threw in a three-inch suspension lift, a custom air intake, snorkel, and a custom exhaust system that ends in the center of the bed. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg, so keep reading to find out more.
Speaking of the pick-up bed, thanks to the help of Bass Pro Shops, this lord of the outdoors has “everything required for conventional firearm and bow hunting…as well as an area for meal preparation.” More specifically, the driver’s side of the bed has a fold-down workbench, locking steel rifle case, and a pistol safe, while the other side includes a fold down work surface, bow storage cabinet, and a closet for camo. The food prep area resides on the tailgate, which features a mobile kitchen stocked with a small stove and a built-in seven-gallon water tank. Obviously they’ve done a tiny bit of work to the roof too, adding on an 86-square-foot platform which can be used as a hunting blind or sleeping quarters and is accessible via a side-mounted ladder.
