Our obsession with products and projects funded on Kickstarter has grown from a peripheral hobby to an all-out obsession. In fact, we’re starting an informal series of posts highlighting the projects we’re observing and/or pitching some dough into, like The Glif.

Our latest mini-investment (disclosure: $150) is the TikTok+LunaTik Watch Kit, the coolest watch-conversion of the latest iPod Nano we’ve seen to date. The project is the brainchild of industrial design rock star Scott Wilson whose company Minimal is responsible for the Microsoft Kinect and Nike Presto watch, amongst other icons. The premise is simple. Use great materials, apply awesome design and build with high-caliber engineering. The TikTok works like a wrist dock allowing you to snap in your iPod Nano — turning it into a fully functional multi-touch timepiece. The LunaTik follows the same idea but kicks up the materials quotient by utilizing CNC machined premium aerospace grade aluminum. The project has raised nearly $300,000 in less than a week (yes, $300k), but that doesn’t mean you can’t get in on the action (or procure a kit yourself). Funding ends Dec 16. We’ve embedded the project video after the jump.
