Oversized watches may be passé, but Panerai continues to stand out amongst large-diameter wannabes with their range of classic, understated timepieces. Released earlier this year, the 44mm Panerai PAM359 Luminor Marina 3 Days Automatic ($7,500) is part of Panerai’s regular production contemporary line, but offers unique design queues centered around a dial which shows all the numbers (unusual for Panerai but not without reason). Further details include a matte black sandwich dial with beige colored Luminova versus the typical green, a polished “1950’s” style case inspired by heritage pieces, an exhibition back with crystal sapphire, black strap with luminova matched beige stitching and Panerai’s in-house automatic P.9000 movement with 3 day power reserve. Water resistant to 300 meters.
