Our love for ultra wide-screen displays knows no bounds (case in point: here and here). The problem is, ludicrous price tags and/or cumbersome overseas shopping make the coveted displays a heart crushing prospect to even the most avid peripheral-phile. Enter Vizio and their layman’s attainable solution (think Costco). Announced at CES, the CinemaScope (2.35:1 ratio) Vizio Cinema HDTV LED LCD, packs 2560×1080 pixels in wall-spanning 50″ or 58″ sizes and plays both 21:9 and 16:9 ratio content. The image may not do the display justice but who says you can’t go ahead and start measuring out wall space? Be on the lookout for the display later this year. Learn more.
