Uhuru Design has created this beautifully contoured Coney Island Cyclone Lounger as a tribute piece to one of the last remaining rides at New York’s iconic park. Using reclaimed Ipe wood from the now demolished original boardwalk, the years of weather, salt water and wear show up wonderfully on a piece of furniture that is as unique as it is aesthetically (and childhood memory) pleasing. The laser cut metal base represents the ornate framework of the rollercoaster, covered in a low-VOC powdercoat. Limited to 10 pieces, each one is built to order and is signed and numbered by its creator in Brooklyn. And unlike just about any other rollercoaster, this one just might put you to sleep.
