MB continues their march of churning out the good stuff. Now, they’ve released news about their latest naturally-aspirated mini-beast, the 2012 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe, the anticipated two-door version of their much lauded sedan. Boasting 451 horses from a 6.2 liter V8 (with the glorious option of upping it to a spleen ripping 481 hp). Beefier suspension components and brakes, as well as speed-sensitive sport steering make sure that the 8 cylinder powerplant doesn’t send you flying into the weeds, especially considering the 0-60 time of 4.4 seconds with the standard engine. But it’s not all circumstance with no pomp. The redesign brings forth new front and rear tweaks, a bigger grille and a nice power bulge on the hood to reflect the surging leviathan it contains beneath. The interior, of course, is reflective of both performance and understated German sophistication. Love-handle gripping sport seats in leather or breathable synthetic material are available, along with tasteful piano-black laquer, carbon-fiber, aluminum or wood trim. Shoes on this bad boy? The 18-inch titanium gray alloy wheels are shod with fat 233 front and 255 rear performance tires for road hugging nirvana. On sale later this summer, the C63 AMG is just more proof that performance wrapped in sophistication is less Muscle-T and more Muscle Tuxedo.
