Not to add more to the Transformers hype machine, but one of the undeniably incredible components of Michael Bay’s films is the sound editing. It’s the unsung hero of what makes a great action movie feel like a great action movie. And that doesn’t happen with a measly stereo mic attached to Bay’s 3D cameras. You can thank the re-recording, mastering and foley artists who painstakingly make each boom, buzz, whirr and kapow sound its utter best, sometimes using unexpected methods. This film by Coleman Film is about how it happens.
