5:30 AM, Los Angeles | Waking up at the crack of dawn for school is hardly an ideal way to start the day. Unless, of course, you’re getting up early to attend rally driving school for a crash course in four-wheeled mayhem. Over the course of our day we partook in rapid-fire lessons on the counterintuitive principles of rally driving: steering with one’s feet via the throttle, the patience involved with trusting a moving car to correct itself, and of course looking not just to the curve ahead but the one beyond that. And what better way to learn than sitting with the grandmaster himself? Watch as we sit shotgun with 2011 Rally America National Championship Winner David Higgins for a hot lap.
