In an era where digital cameras and megapixel packed smart phones command all of our attention, it’s nice to know there are still projects where old-school techniques are still being pushed. FOCUSED is a project that’s bringing 200 photojournalists to rely more on their senses than technology. Five separate kits, each containing one roll of 36 exposure ISO 200 film and a fully manual camera with a choice of three manual-focus lenses will be sent thousands of miles across the world. The photogs, who are working everywhere from a small town, to a natural disaster zone, to the White House press pool will document their work in hand-writen journal entries. The entire assembly will be published in both gallery and print form and funds raised from the proceeds will then be used to fund youth photography programs. Now, that’s a Kodak Moment.
