Following up on the success of the Method Putter, Nike Golf aims to expand their beachhead, quite literally, with a larger mallet. Building off the Method Core platform, the new Drone ($200) boasts some of the highest MOI (face stability) of any flat stick on the market. More stability means more forgiveness on mishits and when it comes to putting, every fraction counts. After our tests, we found the face to be responsive (read: lively) with a great crisp sound. Knocking balls into the back of the hole were effortless with a nice weighted feel and smooth, rhythmic swing. At first inspection, the head shape gave us some pause as we tried to figure out which Battlestar Galactica ship the putter most resembled, but an hour later thoughts of Cylons were a thing of the past. This putter means business.
