The Mercedes-Benz SL has always been a much-coveted car, and what’s not to like? Big, luxurious, convertible and very German. All good things. The completely redesigned 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL carries on that tradition with a bit more boldness, a bit less weight and a generous heaping of opulence. With styling cues inherited from the range-topping SLS AMG. The tall grille, the big headlights and the more squarish design all lend to a look that is aggressive yet classy. It’s a more unified design than the last generation, and we think it works extremely well. Though the SL has never been a street carver, the 300+ pounds it has shed from its slightly porkier predecessor should make the car handle a tad better. Pricing (likely higher than your annual salary) has not been released yet, nor have the engine details. But don’t worry, it’ll have enough horsepower to alert the fuzz as you fly past the speed trap.
