Walk into a Uniqlo and you inevitably overhear euphamisms like “great style, Old Navy prices” or “it’s like the IKEA of clothes”, but look beyond the obvious and you’ll discover a clever mix of timely and stylish wears at catchpenny prices. Their cashmere sweater sales redefine doorbuster and so long as you’re not seeking Italian bespoke you’ll find pretty excellent tailoring throughout. One pick we’re especially partial to this season are Uniqlo’s checkered flannels. The shirts are comfortable and offered in a wide array of sharp colors at a price — just shy of 30 bucks — that will have you reaching for two. Of each. Heads-up, there’s no e-commerce with Uniqlo so you’ll have to find a store nearest you.
