With just 20 bungalows strewn across 99-acres of mountainside in Mexican wine country, Endemico Resguardo Silvestre might be the best reason to go South of the Border yet. Designed with eco-friendly mentality the demure, yet capacious rooms (each measures about 215 sq ft), called EcoLofts, are built from corten steel and elevated from the ground to minimize impact with the soil. The intended effect is an upscale camping hut — there are even clay kiva fireplaces in each loft — that blend in seamlessly with the environment. But don’t mistake this for roughing it, the property boasts a stunning pool, winery, slow-food restaurant, and enough relaxing activities to make you forget just how much harmony is around you.
