Once 1080p televisions became ubiquitous, Smart TVs assumed the role as the next spec lure dangled in front of consumers for why they needed to upgrade. If you avoided biting on the marketing blabber back then (we’re looking at you Kuro owners), but would still like some of the web benefits of a cutting-edge set, then Samsung’s inTouch accessory is worth a gander. For $199, the Wi-FI equipped 720p webcam packs a skinned version of Android 2.3, enabling Skype video calling, as well as access to a small mix of apps such as Google News, YouTube, and Weather. A QWERTY remote is thrown in too for navigating the inTouch’s interface and browsing the inter webs. Clearly it’s not the most advanced offering in the world, but it could very well make that chaise lounge your better half “had to have” actually serve a purpose. The inTouch hits shelves in March.
