Metzl, M.D., a physician who’s been on the Best Doctors in New York by New York Magazine for three years running and who’s also run 29 marathons (26.2 miles) and 9 Ironman competitions (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and 26.2 mile run – insane). His point is simple – we all get injuries, some more serious than others. This guide contains advice on determining what, and how serious your injury is, and plenty of workout tips to avoid them in the future. One aspect we really liked was Dr. Metzl’s determination to find alternatives to going under the knife whenever possible. Now that’s a refreshing take on sports medicine.
