While traditional boat shoes have long been a mainstay of summer wardrobes, few ever see the deck of a 12-meter yacht, nor are they suited for that environment. Leather uppers and laces stay soaked and chafe your feet, and slip-on shoes don’t inspire confidence when you’re headed up high in the bosun’s chair. So leave your docksiders on the dock and get a pair of Adidas Outdoor Boat CC Lace for the real wet work. The lightweight synthetic mesh uppers and perforated soles let water drain through, the tacky rubber bottoms grip even the slickest of teak, and lacing keeps them snug even when the going gets woolly. Of course, these features also make the shoes ideal for kayaking, creek wading, or canoe portaging. But they’re not all business. The funky color choices will make them the hit of the post-regatta party at the yacht club, too.
