We don’t give a lot of thought to the design of stools when it comes to choosing furniture for our pads. You can choose some cheap jobber from Ikea or you can find something that makes a statement. The Capelli Stool by designer Carol Catalano fits that bill perfectly. Part of the prestigious Herman Miller collection, the Capelli Stool is inspired by entwined fingers and takes alternating dark and light plywood and shapes them into a wonderful undulating platform for your bum. The complexity of the seat portion is well-balanced by the simplicity of the curved base. It might just be the coolest piece of furniture you’ve never heard of. Just keep the rugrats off it. It probably doesn’t play well with Hot Wheels.
