Motorcycle enthusiasts are well aware of the drawbacks of a poorly executed backpack. Shoddy hardware, questionable weatherproofing and styling that usually screams “look at me” for all the wrong reasons are just some of the pack-ability pitfalls we face. Enter Hammarhead Industries to offer a viable and attractive solution. The HHI Day Pack ($290) combines the functionality and rugged good looks that the Philadelphia-based craftsman have gained renown for with their re-purposed bike builds. Working with Brooklyn-based manufacturer d’empoi, Hammarhead has created a pack that utilizes a 15 oz waxed cotton-canvas roll top design with leather lowers to keep things dry. They then employ hardware that had previously found duty on parachute packs to keep the things you have stowed safe and secure. They even incorporated separate 15” laptop, tablet and e-reader sleeves so you can carry all of your little toys when you’re on your big toy.
