While some of us like to keep a folding knife with us in our EDC, a clip sticking out of the pocket to be seen and/or damage a really nice pair of trousers isn’t always apropos. And sometimes, you don’t just want to carry any old folder — you care about high style. The Spyderco Air ($240) by Gayle Bradley, the Texas custom knife builder who’s known for award-winning knives that take a beating, is just such an inconspicuous folder.

The Air uses high-grade materials in its extra-slim handle, including a light skeletonized titanium liner covered with beautiful glass fiber for visual depth and a grippy surface. The curved, Wharncliffe-shaped blade is crafted of super-hard CPM M4 HC steel with a unique look that stands apart from standard folders — and at a length of 2.56″ it allows the knife to be extremely concealable. So the next time you’re dressed to the nine’s and a lovely lady needs the kindest of cuts for a stray thread on her dress, be so kind as to extend the gesture. Just avoid the neck area.
