For the third Hunting eBay I’ve turned the survey to menswear. It’s worth noting my submission into the vast world of fashion comes with a note of diffidence — style is highly subjective, and there’s no shortage of highly tuned eyes on the vast array of good things out there for a man. So instead, I’ve kept the selections focused around my personal taste: classic meets outdoor. Read on to see a few finds from this week’s eBayFinders scavenge; if you missed the last two Hunting eBay posts, motoring and hi-fi, be sure to check them out.

Barbour Gamefair Jacket

A heavyweight coat, the Gamefair is a great addition to any sportsman’s repertoire heading into the colder season. With hand-warmer pockets and a brushe lining, the waxed-cotton jacket cuts a clean profile in addition to offering up plenty of protection from the brittle winter. Size: large.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox HPG Watch, Circa 1970

This never-worn Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox HPG automatic may not be the perfect rose-gold watch to pair with your navy suit, but it’s got an infinitely better story than most timepieces. Dating to around 1970, the 32mm watch is a rare find. Originally designed for jetsetters, the Memovox’s hallmark is its built-in mechanical alarm. Jaeger-LeCoultre has recently issued a revival of the piece, but my vote is for the original. Take note that this listing does not include the original box.

Burberry Agents for Abercrombie & Fitch Wool Overcoat, Vintage

Long before the overwhelming retail experience, Abercrombie & Fitch was known as a company that purveyed well-made goods with pedigree. Look back far enough and you’ll find that stalwarts like Burberry even offered special editions for A&F: this vintage wool overcoat is a perfect example. At size 42 R, this coat is absent of any major wear and begging to be taken to its new owner’s favorite tailor for a good fitting session.

Wolverine 1000 Mile Boots

The Wolverine 1000 Mile boot really needs no introduction. It’s been written and covered ad nauseam by the menswear community, but it’s still a modern classic. Made from Chromexcel leather in America, the classic welt construction boot pays proper homage to the original. Size 10.5.

Persol Steve McQueen 714 Folding Sunglasses

If you know your style and film culture, then you know the iconic Persol 714s. The Italian eyewear brand has been outfitting Hollywood’s most dapper for decades. Here, on Mr. McQueen in the original Thomas Crown Affair, the 714s couldn’t look any sharper. And though you may not sport the same square jaw line, these folding sunglasses still look as handsome as ever.

With an undeniable history in motorcycling, Belstaff today is known for its truthful designs and hardworking build. Comfortable in about any condition, the colonial bag is designed to be carried to work, traveled with or better yet, out on the open road on a café racer. Plenty of details abound, like pockets galore, antique hardware and durable woven canvas. And if you’re wondering why the bag looks so familiar, just refer to I Am Legend and Batman for a glimpse of the bag on the silver screen.

Manastash Kootenay Vest

Established in Seattle in 1994, Manastash isn’t as widely known as some of the larger brands, but don’t take it for another fashion-come-first brand. Rooted in sustainable material construction and functionality, Manastash embodies the Pacific Northwest at its best. Made from fabrics like PrimaLoft (a fine down alternative) and Pertex, the lightweight water/wind-resistant insulated vest is durable and packable. A packing bag is included. Size: large.
