Though Daniel Craig pulls off a solid fashionable Bond, let’s be honest: what we’re buying tickets to see is the grizzly aftermath (and pre-math, and during-math) of his nasty violent streak. He’s got to look like a killer while he does it, and the Levi’s Vintage Clothing Jacket that he sports in Skyfall does the trick nicely. Their replica 1930s Leather Jacket ($900) is, well, literally old-school Bond. Like all of the Levi’s Vintage Clothing line, it’s based off of wares from the Levi archives dating back to 1880. Its 100% sheep leather with two slanted pockets and a well-worn roughness (is that blood?) would make the ninniest of men seem formidable — or at least less scared of the world. On Bond, it provides the perfect amount of intimidation.
Gear Patrol is a gathering place for guys hell-bent on making the most of their time on planet Earth in the 21st century. What we do is what magazines have always done: provide a filter on the world, our take on what’s valuable and interesting, using original photography and thoughtful storytelling -- but with the agility a website affords. That means we can tapdance between brand new product releases and timeless stories about people and far-off places, on the same day, on the same page, from our HQ in New York or anywhere else in the world. We value our long game and our short game equally. More this way.
