When the magicians at AMG were tasked by Mercedes-Benz to create a new car inspired by the 1950s 300 SL but updated with materials and design language that would appeal not only to enthusiasts but billionaire playboys and supermodels, they probably rubbed their hands like evil scientists. Their plotting eventually begat the monstrous SLS AMG. Gullwings? Check. Long nose? Check. Sexy as hell? Check with gusto. Oh, and don’t forget the 6.2-liter V8, which pushes 563 hp to the rear wheels, making the SLS AMG scream to 60 in 3.8 seconds. Suddenly $200,000 seems like a steal. Okay, so now it’s the SLS AMG GT. We’ll take the old one, right guys?
One hell of a legacy
