Dub-Box-Gear-Patrol Dub-Box Trailers
Guess what inspired Dub-Box trailers? The Oregon-based company is building customized rigs mainly for the booming food truck market. A retro fridge, smoke alarm, two-ring gas burner, stainless steel sink, pump action tap, LED lighting and a sound system that works with CDs and MP3 players all come standard. Should your heart desire other features, like, say, a rotating faux cheetah-skin bed, we’re guessing that they could make it happen, too. dub-box.com ()
Nokia-Treasure-Gear-Patrol Nokia Treasure Tags
Wireless tags that alert users when keys or other valuables go missing aren’t a new idea, but Nokia’s newly launched Treasure Tags leap several design hurdles. The 13-gram tags are roughly the size of a match box, connect via NFC or Bluetooth and feature replaceable batteries for long-term use. Paired with a special app, they’ll emit a loud tone should items get separated. If you can’t hear the tone, the app can always pinpoint their location via a map. Nokia says they’ll cost $30 and launch sometime in April for Lumia owners initially, but third-party iOS and Android apps are also in the works. nokia.com ()
Frame-Bag-Gear-Patrol Maharam Frame Bag
It’s hard to leave an interesting mark in the duffle bag world. Still, Maharam’s revealing ripstop nylon external structure definitely draws looks. We’re naturally keen on the bright orange, but there’s also an indigo option. $295
SH-Athletics-Gear-Patrol S&H Athletics
Jeff Halmos and Sam Shipley (of Shipley & Halmos fame) have finally launched their vintage-inspired sports line S&H Athletics. It includes baseball jackets, gym tees, polos and several other old school sports collectibles like the White Men Can’t Jump soundtrack on cassette or Tiger’s Jordan v. Bird handheld game. The early ’90s never looked so appealing. $50+
Trax-Gear-Patrol Trax
The Trax is a small GPS device designed to keep a satellite eye on your kids or pets. It comes with a SIM card and ships with two years of free data and roaming in more than 30 countries. Outside of providing location data on demand, it allows one to track car speeds and sends alerts if those speeds are exceeded, making it a particularly useful tool for monitoring your lead-footed better half. $219 ()
