Timbuk2-Covert-Messenger-Bag.jpgWalking or biking the streets late at night isn’t always the safest thing to do. However there are many of us, including myself, that consider ourselves to be night owls. Whether we’re carrying around books, clothes or gear, a good messenger bag is ever useful. How do you turn a good bag into a great one? Just ask Timbuk2. Their new Covert Messenger features a wide strip of black fabric that reflects light when hit from a light source, such as headlights or a flashlight.

What makes this messenger “covert” is that it looks just like a normal messenger during the day. The unique center panel has a tight weave that hides the 3M reflective filament below . At night, however, when the black fabric is hit by a light source, it lets in just enough light to allow the reflective material underneath to shine. If you’re a Timbuk2 fan, there’s no need to worry. You still get all the same great features that you would come to expect from the brand, the internal organizer pockets, extra-heavy-duty stitching and waterproof liner. They’ve just added a little extra something to keep you safe at night.

What this means to you: What you do in the wee hours of the night is up to you, but go about it safely.

Cost: $150 @ Onlineshoes
