Much, Much More Than A Coffee Table

Games, Drinks, Remotes. What else does a guy need?    [click on image to enlarge]

Look around your living room. Is it cluttered with remotes, some DVD’s, maybe a beverage glass or two, and a couple of games crammed into a lower shelf? If you’re a guy, I’m willing to bet yes and double or nothing some of those items are sitting on your coffee table.

The Taka Trunk from Crate & Barrel is likely to be one of the cooler coffee tables you’ll ever own. Designed like an old steamer trunk, the Taka Trunk offers much more than a generous table space. It will also open up to two compartments capable of holding a case of wine or liquor or even games and CD’s. A center divider compartment conceals DVD’s and books and a small discreet drawer will store your remotes and other small items. The trunk even offers support arms that pull out to hold up the lids to provide you equal tabletop space when the compartments are open.

As for the materials, the Taka Trunk is constructed with walnut and lacquer stained plantation-grown shesham wood, tongue-and-groove joinery and old fashioned iron hardware. Manly.

Cost: $499 @ Crate&Barrel
