		<description>Really good points on all accounts. Our impassioned argument for diesel perhaps more lies in the fact that we've driven diesel vehicles for some time and always enjoyed the "seat-of-your-pants" experience. Nothing like torque to make you smile.

As for the cost of diesel - a lot of vehicles we've drive have netted more than 20% increase in economy, especially on the highway where we've seen up to 50% increases. Just something to consider.</description>

Too bad since we already use corn products(corn syrup, corn starch, etc) in the vast majority of food products we consume, pretty much everything in the grocery store will become much more expensive if ethanol fuel ever becomes a mass market commodity.</description>

Very interesting read.  In what little time I have left over from GearCrave, I'm a biofuel and alternative engine technology nut.  

Another option instead of a hybrid or a diesel is just to mod your own car to run on flexible fuels.  Its as easy as changing a windshield wiper blade, as cheap as $250 for a 4-cylinder engine, then your car can run on gasoline, ethanol or methanol.  So at my local gas pump, where E85 ethanol is available for $2.50 a gallon, I can fuel my car with that as opposed to $4.00 gasoline...

Ethanol is cleaner, healthier for your engine, cheaper and made right here in the US, not imported from a country that hates our guts.
