Gear Up Properly For The Airplane Snorer

ableplanet-nc200-harmony-headphones.jpgBy my reckoning, headphones can be categorized as either inexpensive/expensive, in-ear/on-ear/shit-ugly. Sure, there are plenty of options available for men of all walks, but recently I found myself in need of gear to stave off the crying baby or snorer that I inevitably find seated next to me on flight after bloody flight.

Wanting not wanting to invest hundreds of dollars, I got equipped with a pair of Able Planet Noise Canceling headphones, the NC200’s. The sound is warm (if not a touch soft) but robust, build quality is nice, and the fit is comfortable. About all you can ask for at a sub $50 price tag. FYI: I rock the Klipsch Image headphones for daily use.

The Able Planet NC200’s packability is top-rate with a folding design, single AAA battery operation (included), and its own felt carrying bag. Sure, they’re not audiophile grade units, but when you’re stuck for three hours on a connection out of Atlanta, it’s nice to sit back and drown out the gab with Miles Davis’ Kind of Blue.

Cost: $45
