A couple months back, I was at a local surf shop looking for a new pair of sunglasses when I came across a pair of Sanuk Sidewalk Surfers. Intrigued by their design and mantra, “It’s not a shoe, It’s a sandal,” I tried them on and thought… nice… then I promptly scooped up a pair.

After giving them the initial run-through, I noticed that they were really comfortable but I didn’t really wear them much because it was still kind of winter. As I was prepping for my trip to Panama, I packed the Sanuks along with my rainbows and went on my way.

I’m not really a fan of sandals, something to do with not being comfortable wearing something I can’t haul ass in, I don’t know, but I found myself wearing the Sanuks everywhere and pretty much for the whole trip. They were just that comfortable and went with everything.

Sanuk’s concept of building a shoe upper on top of a sandal was pretty ingenious, and if you’re in the market for some casual kicks for the summer, you owe it to yourself to check them out. Nothing beats good comfort with awesome quality, and Sidewalk Surfers come in many styles to deliver just that.

Cost: $55
