Jeremiah Weed Sweet Tea
As Smooth As A Southern Drawl

By Gear Patrol Reader Tim Ferraris
In most of the country, requesting iced tea will net you a cold glass of just that - plain ole’ iced tea. But when down South, tell your server you’d like an iced tea, and you’re sure to get a tall glass of the syrupy, sugary stuff. That’s just the way we like it down here, and that’s why Jeremiah Weed Southern Style Sweet Tea gets my full recommendation as the go-to libation for your summer cookout.
This homage to Southern taste buds was released only a couple of months ago. When I first caught wind of its existence, I thought I would need to search far and wide in order to sample the goods. However, it’s been available in every liquor store that I’ve visited lately, and I’ve been in my fair share (trust me).
Hit the jump for more on this tasty treat.
It looks like bourbon, but tastes just like a sister from Chi-O poured an airplane bottle of Smirnoff into your Chick-fil-A cup. Jeremiah Weed Sweet Tea is simple. It is what it says it is; it is sweet tea-flavored vodka. And when I say sweet tea, I mean really, really sweet tea. Rot-your-teeth sweet. But it works, and, at 70 proof, it works quite well, boasting a smoothness usually reserved for more expensive alternatives.
Enjoy Mr. Weed’s Sweet Tea mixed with fresh-squeezed lemonade, or pour it over ice and sip it slowly. The possibilities are endless; the only limiting factor is your imagination. So, if you’ve invited the local university’s chapter of Alpha Delta Pi over for some burgers, or if Jack and Jim just aren’t your thing, maybe Jeremiah will be your cup of tea.
I invite you to learn more about Jeremiah Weed Sweet Tea, Mr. Weed’s bourbon, or the man, the myth, the legend himself at his blog or via Twitter.

Good stuff, haven't tried this version but have tried other Sweet Tea Vodka. Looking forward to giving this one a shot.
Tim have you ever tried Firefly sweet tea vodka? I'll have to check this out and see how the two compare.
i had heard about this, and it is cool to get a firsthand review; not sure if this is my "cup of tea" haha! good article tim!
I haven't tried the Firefly yet, but now I've got something to which I can compare it. It's gonna be tough to beat the Weed, though.
I may have to wait a bit to give it a try…my budget for "sweet tea flavored vodkas" has been fully exhausted at present.
Firefly is deadly-delicious. I'd recommend trying that as a comparison.

Are they all readily available in the NYC area? Would give it a try on a sultry North Jersey evening.

Nice review Tim. Looking forward to seeing other tasty libations on your seemingly Anthony Bourdain-like quest for new spirits.
Firefly is the original –and best– sweet tea vodka. It's made in South Carolina and uses locally-grown tea leaves.
Hungry for more, baby!
Enjoying it right now. Not bad at all. The distilleries that make Pinnacle Vodka make a sweet tea that's at $15 a bottle and I tried this one because it was on sale at the store I was in for the same price. I honestly can't decide which one I like better, this has more of a bite that's for sure. I'll try Firefly next, but they ar emore than $20 a bottle where I am from so I doubt I'll be drinking that.
This stuff is great. It makes bringing a pre-mixed drink appear too easy!
Love this stuff!
