I'm throwing my hands up in support for Crumpler bags too. I've been using one to house my camera, lenses and other gear for years and it's been brilliant. Durable, tough but without sacrificing on style - pretty much exactly what this guy says! Nice review!

Yeah I really like them. They have a cool range of backpacks too which are worth checking out, as well as some super comfortable camera bags.

Nice review! I really like the look of these bags. I've actually got a Patagonia Half Mass Bag in black, which is strikingly similar to the one in your review minus the cool inner linning. So far it has held up to daily wear and tear filled with a laptop and loads of books on certain days. Also a bit cheaper at $100, so maybe another good option for the GP readers looking for a messenger style bag. http://www.patagonia.com/web/us/product/half-mass...

Nothing wrong with Crumpler, but ReLoad Bags FTW! I purchased a ReLoad bag after the plastic clasp on my Timbuk2 bag broke (i.e. Timbuk2 bags are the currently fashionable bag but not built for real wear and tear). ReLoad uses a metal buckle instead, and they have some of the most gifted craftsman. I ordered a custom bag and couldn't have been happier. You can view their current custom stock on the website or design your own, which I did.
