That sounds like a pretty frickin' sensible route to take. I'm always for starting at cheap and easy and working my way up from there when trying to eliminate a problem.

hey thanks for the quick reply! i suspect the same thing to a degree although i must admit i've always though these power conditioners were a little BS. at least, if you've got less than 5 grand in equipment on it. if i had a $50k rig, then yeah, maybe. i just thought most modern devices were built to work with fluctuations in power, but i'm obviously not an expert. i wonder what exactly does 'dirty power' mean?? everything else in the house works fine. computers, LCD screens, all my musical stuff. no blinking lights or anything.

it's picking up some kind of interferance somewhere for sure though. i do live in an old warehouse building so i wouldn't be surprised if wiring is shoddy. i think i'm going to try some cheap ferrite chokes and put at the end of the power cable and the signal one and see if that helps at all before i buy something that costs about the same as the projector did in the first place.

I've not encountered this exact problem with this or any another projector, but it seems consistent with getting some "dirty" power. You may need to look into a power conditioner to solve the issue. Curious to see what resident A/V guru B. Bowers might think.

hey everyone i'm using this projector also and i while it's great i keep having problems seeing waving horitontal lines on it. i just have 1 composite cable running from the cable set into this and thats all. it improved a little when i ran the power cord to the projector using a different rout than the composite cable but they're still there a little and it seems to get worse when my airconditioning kicks on. any idea what i can do about this?

This unit does not offer the color offset to which you refer and, with every projector, having a quality screen is absolutely essential to getting good results. I can see beaming a projected image onto a painted or colored wall temporarily, but not for an actual installed use.

I suggest checking out screens from DaLite (<a href="http://dalite.com/)" target="_blank">http://dalite.com/)</a> or perhaps looking into ScreenGoo (<a href="http://www.goosystems.com/)" target="_blank">http://www.goosystems.com/)</a> for an alternative solution.

I am interested in buying this, so just wanted to know if you had any clue on how the picture would look when beamed on a light green colored wall (I have drapes which can block most of the light in the room, but I dont have a screen). Is there any setting to offset the color of the wall (I have seen some projectors with this option but dont think this one has it). Please let me know your opinion and if you think buying a projection screen is imperative. Thanks in advance.

It will be really going to produce good results in its range. Good contrast ratio and excellent resolution and very bright picture are making me eager to watch its results on screen. Looking forward to get one . Thanks for the information.

You are correct! I think that I was most surprised by the build-quality and image fidelity, considering the price point.

All I have to say is this is a projector that will NOT let you down. I did much research before purchasing the Epson PowerLight Home Cinema 700, and at first was not expecting much out of the unit. But I am still in shock on the quality of the picture.
