About: I joined Gear Patrol because I love searching for gear in my free time, and I felt the need to pass on my knowledge. As an avid reader of everything online, my bookmark list is about as bloated as George Costanza’s wallet; needless to say, my tastes are eclectic. So, readers, prepare yourselves for variety.
That said, I know that you work hard for your disposable income, so if I recommend something you can be sure I’ve done the research to know that it’s worth your while.
Outside of the gear, I am a born and bred New Englander who recently completed a 2 year stint below the Mason-Dixon Line, and I’m glad to have the Sox and Pats on local programming again (Please refrain from any TB Rays or NY Giants jokes). I graduated not too long ago with a BS in Marketing and, according to my friends, an MS in the History Channel. As a collegiate athlete, my interest and passion for sports and fitness has carried with me. Named after a Roy Orbison song (I guessed Weezer’s “Only In Dreams”), Initium’s In Dreams sunglasses channel the retro chunky frames of the 1950s. The In Dreams come from Initium’s Platinum line, all of which are made in Italy and feature:
- Acetate frames - Heavier and higher quality than plastic, Acetate allows better coloration and the ability to be heated and custom shaped to your head or some RX lenses.
- Polar EQ Duo-Gradient or Polar EQ+ lenses, “that deliver polarized glare protection and vivid color clarity without sacrificing the color combinations only a gradient can offer.”
- “Designed to excel in red-carpet scenarios.” Maybe not an immediate concern, but it never hurts to look like you could waltz onto the red carpet.
- Aluminum carrying case and micro fiber bag.
Though the In Dreams are offered in Black and Tortoise as well, our favorites (and the one’s we tested) are the clear-framed model with smoked lenses. They’re a unique and modern twist on a classic design. Wear with jeans and a button up, and Henry Winkler will likely want a tattoo of you on his ass. Just opt into something else when you’re sporting gym clothes to avoid looking generationally confused..

Thanks Jon. Nice lookin sunnies. I need an alternative to my Wayfarers which are looking a little sad. I wonder, did Rayban Wayfarers have massive a rebirth over there too? Everyone's wearing them again down here in Oz.
Haven't I seen this in a Geico commerical?
not a big fan of sunglasses with colored/clear bold frames. perhaps they might look better with thin frames?
as of now, they kinda look tacky and cheap (something I might be able to snag at the $dollar store)
