We’ve already taken the opportunity to introduce you to a few of SOG’s outstanding blade offerings. Now we’d like you to meet one of their more versatile products, the PowerAssist multitool.

To be clear, SOG offers a bevy of useful pocket powerhouses in their multipurpose tool line. The PowerAssist represents a great smattering of useful gizmos in a portable package. Don’t believe us? It did win the Handyman Club of America’s seal of approval, and they sound pretty skilled.

The PowerAssist is built on SOG’s proven Compound Leverage technology. As the name implies, this allows the pliers and wire cutter on the tool to generate over twice the leverage of similarly sized multitools.

Hit the jump for more details and to see some shots of the PowerAssist in action.

Beyond its jaws, the PowerAssist includes a glut of kit consisting of a screwdriver, Phillips driver, V-cutter, bottle opener, and file. Also featured are a blade and double tooth saw, both of which utilize SOG Assisted Technology to flip confidently open as you get them started. Don’t worry, there’s a safety.

The PowerAssist that we wrangled was finished in matte Black Oxide for low reflectivity but the tool is offered in bead blasted, as well. Included is a thoughtful belt pouch, should that be your thing. All in all, we like to stay prepared for any contingency. If that’s your goal, as well, the SOG PowerAssist will help keep you at the ready.

Cost: $122
