widmer_brothers_reserve_doppelbock1Autumn is nearly upon us and that means more than sweaters and the death of skirts. Seasonal fall beers will also soon be hitting shelves and along this tradition, Widmer Brothers Cherry Oak Doppelbock is scheduled for public consumption starting October 8th. Crafted of dark sweet and red tart cherries from the Pacific Northwest the conditioned on toasted American oak, this premium brew’s impressive 9% ABV is balanced by its complex flavor profile. Thirsty yet?

New for this year though, the brewers have also taken a hint from Willie Wonka, and produced 50 hand signed bottles by Kurt Widmer himself, which have been randomly distributed on store shelves throughout the US. Whoever happens to grab one is asked to post the location and their name via the company’s Facebook page or Twitter account. From there who knows what may lie in store?

Do to extremely limited quantities, be on the look out for it at your local specialty store. If it’s in stock make sure to pick it up… while you can.

Cost: $8-$10
