We know Netbooks are all the rage, but honestly what member of the male species has small enough hands to use them for long periods of time? That’s why we were intrigued by the cross functionality offered in the Viliv S7. Designed as a custom Windows XP powered hybrid touch screen tablet and Netbook, it looks to provide an interesting mix of basic computing power and PDA like convenience in an attractive yet minuscule format (it weighs 1.76 pounds and measures 8.3×4.6×1). Built in 3G and WiMax also makes accessing the internet easier as long as you’ve signed up for an account with your wireless provider. Photos and more details after the jump.

Hardware wise, the S7 features a 1.3GHz Intel Atom Z520 processor, 1GB of DDR2 ram, 32GB solid state hard drive, and a 1.3 megapixel webcam. Surprisingly, it’s on board stereo speakers are also touted as being quite loud and providing excellent sound quality for their size. Of course as with any computer with these specs, don’t expect lightening fast performance, especially doing resource hogging tasks like streaming video.

However despite sluggishness, the S7’s battery life is among the best in its class, with a reported 8 hours and 16 minutes of battery life during video-playback battery drain testing. Hell that’s almost one film from the LOTR extended edition set. Price though is an issue, especially considering that $800 (for the maxed out version) can get you far more computing power if not in the same form factor. Why the touch pad is positioned above the keyboard is also mind boggling, but our guess is Yukung Viliv hoped owners would never need it.
