Portable televisions have come a long way from the battery-powered-anvils they used to be. Witness the FLO TV. Measuring 4.4′”x3.0″x0.5″ and weighing just over 5 ounces, this sleek, pocket-sized machine brings in close to 20 TV channels including CBS, Comedy Central, Discovery, ESPN, FOX, MTV, NBC, and The Food Network; the content comes straight to the palm of your hand in both live and time-shifted form. The unit’s on-board battery is also touted as providing 5 hours of continuous TV watching or up to 300 hours of standby time. Though phone-based service is already available through select AT&T and Verizon cell phones, this personal television is designed with real show addicts in mind. Or at least it should be, considering its cost. For details on pricing hit the jump.

To get one of your own, buyers will have to pay $249.99 for the device, and agree to a ridiculous 3 year contract for the $8.99 a month service, all of which must be paid upfront. While, personally, that seems a lot to dish out, especially considering the cell phone contract rate of $15 a month in addition to your normal calling bill, tube junkies or frequent travelers might find it all worth while to stay up to date with their favorite content while on the go.

Cost: $250 (+$324 for 3 year contract)
