When it comes to focusing, no piece of gear you purchase is faster and perceptively more accurate than your own two eyes. Of course, unless that product is permanently in focus. Bushnell has utilized that exact maxim with the development of their Permafocus binoculars. A line of binoculars specifically geared for nature observation and sporting events - dropping the need for you to constantly dial in focus, a welcome change when wearing gloves. Our testing pair came in the 10×50 (10 x at 50mm) model that features fully coated optics (think: brightness), a wide angle 6.3° field of view, and an easy-to-hold non-slip rubber armor grip. At 31 ozs, we found the Bushnell Spectator’s to be hefty (not a bad thing with binoculars), but well balanced. The weight kept our hands steady (despite the cold), and the bridged design provides enough room to firmly grip the unit, even when wearing gloves. Terrible seats for the upcoming Giants vs Chargers game? Solved.

Additional photos after the jump.

Cost: $83 | Amazon ($50)
